Structherm take the issue of the environment and sustainability very seriously.
Sustainability is central to our work and can be defined as ‘ensuring development meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’.
Sustainable development means:
- Reduction of emissions
- More efficient use of resources
- Better re-use of waste
- Increased consideration for people’s health & safety
Sustainable construction or ‘build to last’ means we need to create buildings which shape communities in a way which sustains the environment, generates long-term wealth and enhances the quality of life. Indeed, when it comes to refurbishment of existing buildings, Structherm’s EWI systems are very cost effective methods of re-using or retaining existing components and extending the life of a structure, as well as enabling remedial work in nearly all situations to be carried out whilst people remain in the building.
A typical Structherm refurbishment including new cladding and windows can be demonstrated to reduce fabric heat losses by up to 75%, with ensuing reductions in heating costs and carbon dioxide emissions.
Our interactive environmental committee is constantly working towards improving energy efficiencies in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
